Our baby room is designed to provide a warm, comforting and stimulating environment for your child's first nursery experience.
This age group is separated into movers and non-movers. This encourages the movers to gain confidence in their developing skills while ensuring the 'non-movers' can enjoy their surroundings in safety.
There is a basic daily routine in the baby room but this is very flexible and takes into account each child's individual needs. We include activities such as painting, sticking and messy play to develop their creative skills.
The babies have the benefit of a stimulating room with varied, age-appropriate play equipment. These include: soft play toys, musical instruments, hand and eye coordination activity centres, heuristic and sensory play to encourage coordination and social skills. We also provide sit and ride toys, tunnels, balls, to encourage walking and motor development.
The babies sleep room has been designed with peaceful, subdued colours in mind to help relax and comfort the babies at rest. Two sides of the sleep room are glazed, enabling the staff to have full sight of the babies sleeping at all times. The room also boasts a beautiful twinkling Starfish on the ceiling, to aid the babies to drift off to sleep.
Parents are asked to supply nappies and baby wipes/cotton wool for their child's needs, as well as supplying formula milk, already made up in bottles, for their baby. When your child is ready to begin weaning please see your room staff who will talk you through our menu and plan with you, which foods you would like us to introduce and. which foods you would like us to introduce and when.
We will always keep you fully informed of your child's progress through a home link book, encouraging communication between staff and parent.
We also hold regular parents evenings where you can talk to your key worker.
Before your child moves on to the next room your key workers will discuss the best way to approach this with you.
